Kung Fool’s Fall was produced by 12th grader students during a three week artist-in-residence film program. My students had decided before I arrived they wanted to make a comedic love story with Kung Fu battles. They hadn’t thought dialogue would have to be written and memorized and actors auditioned within the four remaining class periods of our week of planning. I suggested they think about a silent film, and initial resistance gave way to enthusiasm as we researched early silent films.
