Newfoundland

Client: Self-Assigned

These photographs were taken over three months during the mid 1980s in numerous small fishing villages along the coast of Newfounland.  It was a time when Newfoundlanders divided the world into two spheres: Newfoundland and all the rest. Young men either accepted the hazardous life of fishing or had to abandon a lifestyle forged by generations before them for a new life on mainland Canada.
